Did you know?

Duck Key lies a short distance to seaward of the main axis of the Keys. It once boasted an extensive establishment for the purpose of making salt by evaporating seawater, but the venture failed when the original proprietor died. The Key was deserted by 1837. The present causeway was built in 1955 and the resort and real estate development soon followed.
